Chuck Ellis interviews Nicolas Hamlin, Republican candidate for Maine House District 49 (Arrowsic, Georgetown, Phippsburg, Woolwich and West Bath). Nick shares his story: a multigenerational military family, more than a decade of service, and losing his Marine father to suicide at a young age. In 2013 he started a winter softball fundraiser that has raised more than $130,000 for Maine veterans.
He explains why he’s running: high taxes and energy costs, poor education outcomes, and fraud and waste in state government, and he talks about real solutions for veteran and general homelessness.
