Amber Lavigne joins Chuck Ellis to share her story of finding out that a school social worker had given her daughter chest binders.
Amber explains how her family found a binder in her daughter’s bedroom in December 2022, when her daughter was barely 13, and how school leaders told her the social worker had done nothing wrong and refused to share records. After a dozen attorneys turned her down, the Goldwater Institute took her case, and she walks through where it stands, from the dismissal in Maine to the appeal argued in Boston.
Chuck and Amber also talk about why more parents are starting to speak out, the threats she has received, and the social pressure that keeps many people quiet on gender issues.
